How To: Contact the Pokemon Company Support

Pokemon LogoRecently I’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon Duel which is an incredibly fun chess-like game that involves some strategy and luck to come out on top.

Rather than use your Google account or Apple ID to log into the app, the game simply lets you create a game account without any kind of information. This is where the problem lies. When you change devices, you need to go into the app and create what’s called a transfer code. This allows you to transfer your account data to another device. What I was unaware of was that the code is SINGLE USE!

That’s right! Each time you switch devices, you need to generate a new transfer code. Not knowing that, I wiped a device assuming I could use the same code, and boom! Nope!

So I went searching for a support email on the web and it was a pain in the butt to find, but I found their support info.

Here’s the link for the Pokemon Group’s support page.

It has support info for:

  • Pokemon Trainer Club
  • Pokemon Go Plus
  • Pokemon Duel
  • Pokemon Shuffle Mobile
  • Pokemon Trading Cards and Products

Hope this helps if ever you need support!

Best Buy Canada Nintendo Switch Confusion

After watching the Nintendo Switch event I knew I was going to be purchasing one so the following morning, I hopped on to BestBuy.ca and pre-ordered mine as soon as I could.

I messed up my original order by using my shipping address as my billing address and my billing address as my shipping address. After a couple of calls to Best Buy customer service, my order was corrected and good to go with one small problem…………………..

The launch date that Best Buy has for my order and for the Nintendo Switch is March 31st? This doesn’t make any sense as the console is launching on the 3rd of March.

I’ve reached out to Best Buy on Twitter to clarifiy.

I have read conflicting information saying that Best Buy made a mistake or they intend to launch it on the 31st. I will be sure to update this post with new information as soon as Best Buy responds.

***** UPDATE *****

BestBuy Canada didn’t respond to me at all on Twitter however they did send out a bulk email confirming the date is wrong on everyones preorders. See below.

Play Pokémon Go in Canada

Some people have asked me how to go about playing the game in Canada, so I thought I would detail how to get it done.

Android

Step 1) Download the APK here

Step 2) Install the APK. You may need to allow unknown sources to be installed. Once completed you are good to go. Just open the app and sign in with your google account.

iOS

This one is a bit more complicated, so I will add a link HERE to the full instructions by MobileSyrup.com

First Experiences with Pokémon Go

Although Pokémon Go is not out here in Canada, there are a ton of people who have it and are playing it all over the place. That being said, I thought I would post a story that happened to me a couple of days ago that I thought was pretty funny.

The night in question I decided to meet someone from reddit at Greenbank Square to go out and hunt some Pokémon.

We walked around a surrounding neighborhood, for a bit until we hit Ben Franklin Park 1 because there was a gym there that Marco (the redditor I met up with) wanted to take over.

So here we are at about 9PM in a parking lot trying to take over a gym. We noticed that there were a couple cars full of thugged out Lebanese  guys just sitting there watching us when one of them yelled over “Yo! You guys tryin to take that gym?!?! It’s a real bitch!”.

Marco and I couldn’t stop laughing about it! It was one of the funniest things that’s happened so far playing this game. The guys came over and we were all talking shop about the server stability issues and whatnot. It was like being 10 years old again and meeting a bunch of random new people! It was a really awesome experience!

Overwatch Open Beta

I remember hearing about Overwatch during one of Blizzards press events and thought “Blizzard is making an FPS? LOL!”.

Well after playing Overwatch non-stop all weekend long, I have determined that I should probably play a game before I laugh it off.

Overwatch is an absolute blast! I had a ton of fun learning all of the characters and maps, and am somewhat disappointed that I won’t be able to play it again until its release.

The characters and their talents bring a very cool dynamic to the game forcing everyone on the team to work together in order to win. It’s been a great weekend, but I can’t wait until this game is released and I can play it non-stop for a few days a week!
